The said Eli Buckles, of Capt. John A. McFarlane's Company of Va. Cav. Confederate States, was enlisted by Otis Caldwell, at Lebanon Va on the First day of August, 1862, to serve three years; he was born in Russell County in the State of Virginia, is Twenty five years of age, five feet four inches high, Dark complexion, Black eyes, Dark hair, and by occupation when enlisted a Farmer.
