Hale, of Captain Dickenson's Company (A), of the 29th Regiment, Va Corses Brigade, enrolled or enlisted by Capt. Dickenson, at Lebanon Va on the 1st day of August 1862, to serve the war. He was born in Russell County, in the State of Virginia, is 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, Dark hair, and by occupation, when enlisted, a Farmer; and having appeared before this Board for examination, we do hereby certify that he is permanently disabled for field service and unfit for any kind of duty because of Bright's disease of the Kidneys which has been developed in the line of duty and in the service of the Confederate States since the fall of 1862 & he is retired and ordered to report to the Commandant of the post at Abingdon Va for pay and emoluments.
