Obituary of Thomas G. Barrett

January 10, 1913

T. G. Barrett Victim Of Paralysis.

Thomas G. Barrett, of Gardner, Russell county, was called from the stage of action into eternity December 24th, after a stroke of paralysis. He lacked from December 24th to February 15th of being seventy-five years old. Mr. Barrett was a kind man and a devoted parent.

He had always enjoyed good health until he become suddenly stricken just a brief time before his death. He was born and reared in the vicinity of the place of his death. His wife died in January 1912.

The deceased is survived by three sons and three daughters. His daughters are Miss Ella Barrett, of Gardner, and who has been his house keeper since the death of his wife; Mrs. Fanny Shoemaker, of Texas, and Mrs. Ascue Hurt, of Gardner. His sons are Henry Barrett, of Richlands; M. L. Barrett, of Swords Creek and Walter Barrett, of Fayett county, W. Va.
