Obituary of Augustus A. Honaker

A. A. Honaker, 84, Pioneer, Is Dead

ELECTRA, Texas, June 10. A. A. (Uncle Gus) Honaker, 84, prominent pioneer of Wichita County, will be buried here Monday afternoon. A native Virginian, he came to Texas in 1871, settled first in Collin County near Farmersville and came to Wichita County thirty-five years ago. He was one of the first settlers of Sunshine Hill, where members of his family still own land and oil production. He moved to Vernon ten years ago, retaining his property here. His death took place there Sunday morning. Surviving are three sons, S. E. Honaker, Vernon; Will Honaker, Wichita Falls, and J. Mart Honaker, Electra, two daughters, Mrs. Otto Schlemeyer and Miss Alice Honaker, Electra.
