Isaac V. Reynolds to His Wife

Camp Burk Garden
Tazewell Co Va
Oct 2nd 1862

Dear wife I take the present opportunity to drop you a few lines to let you know I am still in the garden of plenty yet. Doing well, plenty of beef, flour, chickins potatoes trout, milk & butter & a good appetite which is better than all.

I injoy myself very well here but not so well as i would at home. I expect to come home before I move from the garden, if there is any chance. I don' t know where we will go from here yet. There is some talk of going to doubling depot to get our equipage but I cant tell when.

I want you to make me one colored shirt, for white ones are so hard to wash. We have some sickness in our co, wes gerritt & Bill monk has the fever and Barnot has the jaunders. Nothing more, write to me as soon as you can & let me know how you are geting along.

I V Reynolds
