Isaac V. Reynolds to His Wife

Shenendoah County Va

Aug 11th/64
As we are started down the valley I thought I would write a few lines to let you know where we are & where we was going, we are a going to Winchester.

I sent a hat for Crock by John Dills & a candlestick, you can send up there and get them as soon as he gets home, I havent time to write much, as I am writing this while the command is resting. All of our Co has come out safe but there is lots that is missing yet.

Take good care of things at home, save all the food you can. I sold an old mare yesterday for $450. Fickle lost all my yankee tricks from sadle on the stampede.

Yours & c
I V Reynolds
