Whitley Thomas Loses Hand Dynamiting Fish.

Whitley Thomas lost a hand Wednesday by the explosion of dynamite. He had just lit part of a stick preparatory to throwing it into the water and became rattled when others with him seeing that he was holding it too long, yelled at him to throw it and as a result he was holding it when it exploded.
Drs. Burns and Gilmer were called and rendered the necessary surgical attention.
Mr. Thomas is an old confederate soldier and is about 84 years old and it is feared that he will not survive this injury.
