OLDEST CITIZEN IN THE TWO VIRGINIAS
Three Years Past the Century Mark and is Hale and Hearty.

Conductor John Moran, on Train No. 12 yesterday, had for a passenger probably the oldest man in this section of the country. He was Mr Mathias McLee who boarded the train at Honaker, for Tazewell. Mr McLee is 103 years old. He handled himself well, his hearing is perfect and his eyesight very good. He was born and raised in Russell county, and served through the Civil War in the 37th Virginia regiment. He takes great interest in the Confederate Veterans' organizations and has attended every one of the big reunions. Mr. McLee has never used tobacco in any form. A noted author has written him for information regarding his habits of life, and will incorporate them in a forthcoming book. He has two sons living near Tazewell and yesterday went to that place to visit.
