Obituary of Oscar G. Addison

O. G. Addison Dies at Meadowview, Va.

MEADOWVIEW, Va., March 13. (Spl.). O. G. Addison, Confederate veteran who would have been 94 years old, on May 6 of this year, died at his home here yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. His death came as the conclusion of a period of steadily declining health beginning last October.

He is survived by three daughters, Miss Sue Addison, of Meadowview, Mrs. Nannie Patrick, of Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Mary Gregory of Meadowview; one son, G. W. Addison, of Wallace, Va.; and one sister, Mrs. Millie Snead, of Abingdon, Va. His wife died March 4, 1925, preceding him to the grave by more than five years.

Mr. Addison lived practically all his life in Russell and Washington counties, and was for a number of years operator of a farm at Wallace, Va. He served with the Confederate army during the War between the States.

Funeral services will be conducted sometime Wednesday.
