Individual pension applications for Russell County veterans are now linked directly from the soldier's page. Here are three collections of pensions filed in Russell County. The first Southern pension law was passed in 1888 and it covered only those wounded in battle or their widows. The second law, in 1900, relaxed the restrictions. A third law was passed in 1902.
