Obituary of Davis C. Alderson

April 2, 1909

PASSED TO REST.

Davis C. Alderson Dies At Bolton.

All Russell mourns the death of Davis C. Alderson, which occurred at his home at Bolton, this county, March 27th, 1909.

Mr. Alderson had long been between life and eath, fighting gamely for the former against cancer of the lip. No one earthly knows what he suffered all those months of affliction but he bore it like a soldier.

Energetic, was a name we have often heard applied to Mr. Alderson since our boyhood. Blood never coursed through veins of man who possessed more energy than he, and up to the time of his death he was all business, striving to leave something and things in shape for his family he loved and regretted to leave.

For a number of years Mr. Alderson was superintendent of schools of Russell county and his wise supervision is not forgotten and the good he accomplished will continue to bear good fruit.

Just how many years Mr. Alderson was chairman of the democratic party of Russell county we do not know, but many times the party was led to victory by this highly respected man whose body now rests beneath the sod in the west part of the county.
