June 2, 1933 J. D. Alexander Passes at Norton
No where is the death of Capt. J. D. Alexander more regretted than in Lebanon, where he spent several years with his daughter, Mrs. Sam Aston.
His death occurred Monday at Norton at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kitts, after weeks of confinement to his bed due to infirmities of advanced age, being about 92 years old.
It was a pleasure to know this old Confederate soldier, a true blue Southerner, a gentleman in all that the word implies, and we have never known a finer man - there were no finer men than he was, and his memory will live on in this community that he made better by having lived in it.
Funeral and burial will be held at Tazewell, his old home, on Wednesday.
