Obituary of Isaiah Drake Ball

I. D. BALL PASSES AWAY HERE AT THE AGE OF EIGHTY YEARS

I. D. Ball died here Wednesday at the home of his son-in-law, Dr. Ben W. Bird, at the age of eighty years, following a protracted illness is several months. Following brief services held from the Bird home yesterday morning, the remains were taken to Roanoke for burial. Mr. Ball was a highly respected citizen. For many years he had been an active and consecrated member of the Baptist church and his many friends throughout the county will learn with sincere regret of his passing. He is survived by eight children: Mrs. W. N. Surface, of Norton, Mrs. Ben W. Bird, of this city; Rev. W. L. Ball, of Spartensburg, S. C., C. A. Ball, of Roanoke; John K. Ball, F. L. Ball, H. H. Ball and Harold W. Ball, of Princeton.
