Obituary of David Kent Banner

January 25, 1912

MENDOTA

Mendota, Va., Jan. 24. - D. K. Banner, a very highly and much respected citizen of Lebanon, Va,. died at his home at 5 o'clock Monday morning of Bright's disease. He was 65 years of age, and a member of the Baptist church. Was a great land owner and a prosperous farmer and at one time owned the pretty residence portion of Lebanon known as the Banner addition. Mr. Banner is survived by his widow and seven children, who are Stephen Banner, William Banner and George Banner, of Lebanon, and Charles Banner, of Spring City, Mrs. W. M. Bausell, of Lebanon, Mrs. Alice Howard, of Honaker, Va., and Mrs. A. F. Pruner, of Lindsay, Okla. The funeral and burial was largely attended. The burial occurred in the Banner cemetery, one mile east of Lebanon.
