Thursday, May 31, death claimed Comrade Lewis P. Cooper. Mr. Cooper has been a member of the Confederate Home for thirteen years, the last three of which had been spent in the Dispensary where he was confined to his bed owing to his advanced age and the fact that his eye sight had completely failed him. Mr. Cooper is survived by three children, two by his first marriage, a daughter who lives in Kansas City, MO,. and a son in California, and a son, Lilburn Cooper of Higginsville, by his second marriage. Funeral services were held in the C[h]apel Friday afternoon by Rev. Lawrence Orr. Interment in the Home cemetery.
