Obituary of Jackson Ferguson

March 21, 1913

Another Old Soldier Called.

Jackson Ferguson died Saturday morning at his home in Elk Garden after a brief illness of pneumonia, aged 67 years.

Mr. Ferguson was a member of Company H, 22nd Virginia Cavalry and was a brave soldier, always at his post where duty called him. Soon after the war he married Miss Eliza Ferguson and lived a quiet unassuming life.

He was a man who was most highly respected and esteemed by everybody who knew him.

He leaves one brother, H. D. Ferguson and one sister, Mrs. A. F. Hurt of Norton, Virginia.

The remains were laid to rest Sunday by the Masonic order of which he was a worthy member.

A number of Lebanon people attended the burial.
