Death notice of John W. Fickle

GALLANT CONFEDERATE
Passes Away at his Home Near Abingdon.
ABINGDON, VA., February 26. - (Special.) - Captain John W. Fickle died suddenly last night at his home, in Greendale, five miles north of Abingdon. He was captain of Company C, Thirty-seventh Regiment of Virginia Infantry, in the war between the States, and made a fine record for gallantry. A wife and five children survive him.
