Obituary of John Caperton Fugate

July 18, 1913 JOHN C. FUGATE DIED LAST WEEK ON MOCCASIN. Was Good Man And Gallant Soldier. The death of "Col." John C. Fugate at his home on Moccasin last Tuesday, July 8th, removes a well known citizen and old confederate soldier from our midst. "Col." Fugate was nearly 73 years of age at the time of his death, and was well liked and respected by those who knew him. He leaves a widow and one son, Grover L. Fugate, now on the staff of the City Engineer at Houston, Texas. Peace to his ashes!
