Obituary of Ira R. Fuller

February 13, 1925

Aged Citizen of Russell Dead

Ira Reynolds Fuller died at home in Elk Garden, Russell county, on last Monday, having just passed the 90th year of his age. Funeral and burial took place from the Methodist church, on Tuesday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Steele, assisted by Rev. Mr. Fuller, of Baptist church.

W. H. Fuller, a brother, aged 84 of Russell, and Mrs. C. H. Reynolds, of this town, are the only remaining children of a family of twelve. Deceased was a brother to the late Beverly Fuller, who, it will be recalled, was a citizen of this county for a number of years, and died at his home on Cavatts Creek.

The subject of this sketch, was one of three brothers, who fought during the civil war, and come out, all of them, without a scratch. At last, the enemy that conquers us all, claimed this old warrior, for his captive. The old soldier sleeps well under the shadows of his native hills. Peace to his ashes.

Attended the Funeral.

Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Reynolds, Miss Kate Reynolds, Senator S. J. Thompson and his son, Bowen, attended the funeral and burial of Mr. Fuller, on Tuesday.
