Castlewood, Va., Sept. 30. - Geo. H. Gose, one of the oldest of the best citizens of this community, died at his home four miles southwest of here, on the 28th instant, of paralysis. Mr. Gose was born October 11, 1835. He married Miss Ellen G. Osborne, nee Lee, who preceded him to the grave, December, twenty-sixth 1911. To this union were born six children, as follows. Messrs. S. C. and G. C. Gose, Mrs. C. W. Banner, Mrs. C. F. Jones, now deceased, Miss Harriett Gose and Mr. R. W. Gose, all of this community.

Mr. Gose belonged to that type of old Virginia gentlemen now rapidly passing away. Religiously, he was a Methodist of the Southern church. Funeral services were conducted by his paster, the Rev. J. L. Mullins, assisted by the Rev. Mr. McConnell and his body was laid to rest in the family graveyard on the old homestead, where he was born and raised and spent his Honorable life.
