August 17, 1923 Robert B. Hendricks
Norton, Va., Aug. 8. - The body of Robert B. Hendricks, veteran of the Confederacy, who passed away Sunday at the home of his son, Thomas Hendricks, at Esserville, was laid to rest today in the Norton cemetery, following services at the Episcopal church by the rector, Rev. M. P. S. Huntington. Mr. Hendricks was 86 years old and was a native of Russell county.
Besides his aged wife, who was Miss Rachel Hendricks, of Pennington, he is survived by three sons, Thomas Hendricks, of Esserville; J. P. Hendricks, of Pennington and Albert Hendricks, of Bluefield and a daughter, Mrs. Bettie Smith, of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
