Obituary of David Fletcher Lee

REV. B. F. LEE DIED SATURDAY

Funeral Service Monday Afternoon

Rev. B. F. Lee, 84, a resident of this city for the past fifteen years died at 12:25 o'clock this afternoon at the home of his son, Roe Lee 2124 Carter avenue, with whom he made his home, terminating an illness of several days. His death, it was said, was due mostly to infirmities of old age.

Rev. Lee was a minister in the Missionary Baptist Church for more than fifty-three years and during this time he held many pastorates. He was a man of ability and a minister who always had a message for his congregation that always was enjoyed.

He was born in Russell county, Virginia, in 1842 and was also a veteran of the Civil War. He came to Kentucky about fifty-five years ago and has been identified with the religious life of the state since that time.

Rev. Lee leaves to mourn his death, his widow, and the following children: Mrs. Lizzie Wilburn, Cincinnati, Ohio; James Lee, Carter City, Ky.; Dud Lee, Kitchins; Mrs. Chloye Parsons, Haverhill, Ohio; Karl Lee, Grahn, Ky.; Roe Lee, this city; Mason Lee, Huntington, W. Va., Robert Lee, Ashland; and Mrs. Edith Sturgill, Ashland.

Funeral service will be conducted from the First Baptist Church, corner Seventeenth street and Winchester avenue, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. D. Wood, assisted by Rev. Robinson, the pastor of the church.

Burial will be made in the Ashland cemetery.
