Death Notice of Samuel Leece
July 19, 1889
Captain Samuel Leece died on Tuesday last after an illness of some weeks. The funeral procession to the Citizen's Cemetery, where he was buried with Masonic honors, was a long one. Capt. Leece had been a well known and esteemed citizen and his taking off in the prime of a vigorous manhood was a cause for universal regret. He was a man of affairs, a successful farmer and had represented this district in the State Senate. Peace to his ashes.
