WELL KNOWN FARMER DEAD

Robert Markham, aged 78 years, passed away on Sunday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at a local hospital, following a complication of diseases incident to old age.

The body was prepared for burial and on Monday was taken to Fort Rice where the funeral was held from the Methodist church at 10 o'clock Tuesday.

Deceased was born in Bautaul county, Virginia, and moved from there to Missouri. Eighteen years ago he came to Morton county with his family taking up his residence on a farm between Huff and Fort Rice, where he has resided since.

He was well known and the friend of all who knew him.

Four sons and two daughters remain to mourn his loss. They are George W. and John W. Markham of Huff, Mrs. Mary E. Peel of Huff, with whom he had been making his home for several years, James F. Markham of Rogersville, Tenn., and Marion C. Markham of Leeton, Mo. and W. K. Markham of Bismarck.
