ABRAHAM McCLURE

In memory of Brother Abraham McClure, who was born in Washington county, Virginia, about the year 1842; died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. McNew, near Simmons, Mo., April 18, 1919, making his age at death about 77 years. Was married to Mrs. Jane Ray in the year 1869. To this union were born five children, four girls and one boy, all of whom, with the aged widow, are yet living to mourn their loss of a kind and loving husband and father. He was converted and united with the Methodist church at the age of 18 years and lived a true christian the rest of his life. Was a member of the Elk Creek church at the time of his death. A good man in every way, as the writer has known him personally for about 45 years. The funeral was conducted by the undersigned at Oak Dale church April 19 and the body was laid to rest in Oak Dale cemetery to await the resurrection of the just. May God comfort and bless the sorrowing relatives.
