Russell Man Dies In Texas

Merit, Texas, Aug. 17. - Editor Lebanon News: N. E. Owens, formerly a citizen of Russell county, Va., is dead. He died the 8th of August at the home of his son, John T. Owens, having been in bed only three days, though he had been failing in body for some time. His almost sudden death was not unexpected as he had reached the age of seventy-four years.

Uncle Major was cheerful and sit up all day, dying in the evening.

My daughter Emma Francis, died at Greenville, Texas, on the 26th of July, in the prime of life, leaving a little boy one year old. She was an earnest christian, member of the Methodist church, South from her youth up. Besides the little boy, she is survived by her husband, J. M. Swindell.
