Obituary of Robert Ratliff

November 16, 1921

VETERAN COAL MINER DEAD.

Bring Body of Robert Ratliff Here for Burial.

Robert Ratliff, aged 81, a resident of Pittsburg for 40 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Annie Spence, eight miles west of Savonburg, last night at 5:30 o'clock. Mr. Ratliff came here in the early days and was well known to old settlers. He was a coal miner. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Bowman chapel. Rev. J. H. O. Smith will speak at the services and the I. O. O. F. will conduct the ceremony. Interment will be made in Mt. Olive cemetery. A son, Benjamin F., and two daughters, Mrs. Louise McCoy, and Mrs. Spence, survive him.

Funeral services for Robert Ratliff, who died Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Annie Spence, eight miles west of Savonburg, will be held here at Bowman's chapel this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. J. H. O. Smith conducted the service. Interment was in Mt. Olive cemetery.
