Death of Capt. W. P. Sample.

The announcement here on yesterday morning that Capt. William Sample, of Maytown, had died the night before at 7 o'clock was received with profound sorrow, for Capt. Sample was liked by all who knew him, and the better the acquaintance the stronger the affection. He came to this section from Virginia several years ago, since which he has been engaged in farming and for a while kept an inn for the accommodation of the traveling public. He was a prominent Mason and by that fraternity will be buried at 10 o'clock today. Besides his wife he leaves several children, among whom Mrs. E. B. May and Mrs. Raleigh May, of Camargo; Charlie, who lives at Maytown. Another son, William, lives in New York, and he also has a son in Kansas. Capt. Sample was a good citizen, a devoted husband, affectionate father, faithful friend, noble neighbor, and above all, a consistent christian. Peace to his ashes.
