October 11, 1908 News of the Clinch. Honaker, Va., Oct. 10 (Special). Col. E. R. Smith, for years a familiar figure in Russell county, died at the home of his son-in-law, b. F. Ball, at Richlands yesterday. His remains will be brought to Honaker and taken to Elk Garden for interment. Col. Smith was about 75 years old and had many friends in this county who will regret to hear of his demise.
