December 15, 1906 Russell County Man Missing Three Years
Three years have passed since C. W. Statzer, of Russell county, Va., suddenly disappeared and all efforts to locate him have been without success.
Mr. Statzer is an old Confederate soldier and was born at Bolton, where he spent the greater part of his life. At the time of his disappearance he was at the home of J. J. Campbell, in Castlewood, and about 8 o'clock at night he stepped out and from that hour to this day his whereabouts have been shrouded in deep mystery.
If he had been foully dealt with it does seem that some trace of his remains would have been found.
If any one can solve the mystery it would be a source of satisfaction to his relatives.
