Obituary of Henry Steel

March 10, 1911

Dies At Honaker.

Burial at Dickensonville.

Was Good Man And Gallant Confederate Soldier.

Russell county lost one of its best men Saturday when the eyes of uncle Henry Steele closed in death. His death occurred at Honaker where he had been for months receiving treatment by a cancer specialist, and the remains were taken to Dickensonville Sunday and laid to rest in the home graveyard.

Mr. Steele was an honorable citizen and was a fearless confederate soldier and participated in a number of battles, many of them bloody conflicts.

The men who participated in the battles of the sixties are fast going to join the comrades who fell on countless battlefields and who have since died.
