Obituary of John Wesley Steel

STEELE FUNERAL THIS MORNING

The funeral of John M. Steele, who died at his home at New Hope, three miles easy of McKinney, Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, was held in the Jacob Routh Baptist church at that place this morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Clyde A. Long, pastor of the First Methodist church, this city. Interment was made at Wilson Chapel, under the auspices of the Odd Fellows.

Mr. Steele was born in Virginia, where he lived until about twenty-one years ago, when he moved with his family to Collin County where he had since resided. He served through the war between the states. He had been engaged in the grocery business at New Hope for the past thirteen years.
