Rolland Sykes Dies From Infirmities
Roland Sykes, aged about 81 years, died Sunday evening at his home six miles northeast of Lebanon, after a short illness.
Mr. Sykes was a Confederate soldier, having served in the 16th Virginia cavalry and was loyal to the lost cause.
He is survived by a host of relatives and friends throughout the county.
Funeral services were conducted by Revs. Wesley and Joe Hubbard.
