September 27, 1918 Whitley Thomas, Old Confederate, Dead
At the advanced age of eighty-six years, Whitley Thomas, six miles north east of Lebanon, passed from this life last Friday night, his death being due to an illness of a long time combined with old age.
Mr. Thomas was one of the boys of Dixie who endured the hardships of a soldier in a four year's fight, being first Lieutenant of his company. A comrade in speaking of said his record as a soldier was good.
