OBITUARY

Rev. W. H. Vermillion was born Sept. 30, 1845 and departed this life Nov. 26th, 1930 being 85 years, 1 month, 26 days old.

In 1862 he was married to Katherine Peters and to this union was born eight children, six boys and two girls as follows: Mrs. W. B. Beverly, Wise, Va; Mrs. Ellen Strong, Johnson City, Tenn.; Rev. J. W. Vermillion, gate City, Va.; G. T. Vermillion, Kingsport, Tenn.; S. E. Vermillion, Gate City, Va.; J. H., C. A. and E. R. Vermillion Gate City, Va., R.F.D., 4, all of whom are living. Besides these he leaves thirty three grand children and two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Peters, Gate City, Va., and Mrs. E. S. Enix, Gate City, Va., R. F. D. 4.

He professed faith in Christ in early life and united with the Methodist Episcopal church and lived in this church until death, being a minister of this denomination for about 50 years. He was a loving father, brother, grand father, great grand-father.

We all loved him dearly and hated to give him up, but while the family, the friends and the church are all bereaved in the removal of grandfather from this earthly home, we in humble submission bow before Almighty God and say, "Thy will be done." Our loss is his eternal gain, may we all live so here in this life that we may live in Heaven together. Grandfather was laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant cemetery near his home.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. L. Shupe and Rev. C. C. Blair, Prayer by Arnold Vermillion.

Writen by his grand daughter.

AUDREY LEE VERMILLION.
