Alfred Whitt Dead
Alfred Whitt, aged 82 years, died at his home near Greendale last Monday after serveral weeks of illness of influenza and pneumonia fever. He served three years in the Civil war. He was converted while in the army at the age of 16.
The wife of Mr. Whitt was buried last Thursday. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. I. B. Smith, of Bristol, Va and one sister, Mrs. Will Harris, of Honaker, Va.
The funeral was held at Heavenly Rest Church, Tuesday, at one o'clock, by Rev. T. G. Nanney, paster of the Missionary Baptist Church of Abingdon.
