John P. Wilson, 97, the last Confederate soldier of Washington county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Oscar Butt here Monday after an illness of two weeks.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Oscar Butt, Abingdon, Mrs. Sam Ketron, Lebanon, Mrs. R. D. Musick, Bristol, Mrs. Minne Rawles, and Mrs. Maude Miller of Wyndale; three sons, George and Dale Wilson of Wyndale and Frank Wilson of Honaker.
Funeral services will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Butts, in Abindgon, Wednesday at 2:30 in charge of Dr. J. W. Perry. Burial will follow in the Wyndale cemetery.
Pallbearers: Rowland Craig, George Miller, Conley Gree, William Colley, J. W. Hutton, O. D. Walker.
Flower bearers will be selected from among friends of the family.
