Obituary of John Patton Wilson

ABINGDON, Va., March 4.

Due to unforeseen conditions, funeral services for John P. Wilson, 97, last surviving Confederate veteran of Washington county who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Oscar Butt, here Monday, have been postponed until Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. the services will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Butt. Dr. J. W. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in the Wyndale cemetery.

The funeral had been previously announced for Wednesday afternoon.

the body will be removed from the Rose-Smeltzer funeral chapel to the home of Mrs. Butt on Wednesday afternoon.

Pallbearers: Rowland Craig, George Miller, Conley Gree, William Colley, J. W. Hutton, O. D. Walker.

Flower bearers will be selected from among friends of the family.

Mr. Wilson is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Oscar Butt, Abingdon, Mrs. Sam Ketron, Lebanon, Mrs. R. D. Musick, Bristol, Mrs. Minne Rawles, and Mrs. Maude Miller of Wyndale; three sons, George and Dale Wilson of Wyndale and Frank Wilson of Honaker.
