Dear parents,
         I seat my self this morning write you a few to inform you that I am well Cummings has the mumps Uncle Isaac come up hear yestarday he is trying get William a furlow Cummings is trying to get him a furlow. If I knowed whether he would get a furlow or not I would know whether to write or not. I think some of you might of wrote a letter and to me I wanted to hear from Rieves what he had to say for himself whether he wanted to come home or not. I wanted to hear whether you get my money or not we are camped in a shugar orchard a very cool pleasant plase the spring we have to use water out of is very week which of makes the water bad. The corn up hear is tosseling out very low I dont think corn will be very heavy this year. General Martial has com back to take command hear again General Williams has or will leave us in a day or too. Also our lieutenan colonel Giles has come too. Their is a great deal of talk of us going to Kentucky but we will not without we get reinforcements. I we do have to go in their we will see heard times this fall and winter.
Martha I sent you a set of hair rollers I sent them by Henry Gibson. I have too little glass cans to send to sarah for writing to me so often. I am afraid if I dont send her something to incourage She will quit wring. Uncle Isaac is about ready to start he is a going to get martial to let bill go with him their is so many wanting furlows that Cum wont get to come I dont expect no more at present
