Dear Brothers
I wrote you a letter the day you left abingdon. I did not send it. I wish I could send you both some thing to eat and all The volunteers I love all of them. I can't heardly bear to look at a young man that has not volunteered. I love you and hope you will all get home you and Rives must think of your savior and ask him to be with you through your troubles there is non can helpe you but your god. I will pray for you all if you don't get back to this home. I hope you will get to a better home than this. This is bad riting.
My hands trimble so I can hardly rite if you were on your way aney wher else but war I could rite you a nice letter. You must rite as often as you can. Uncle Vincent said he would come to you if you got sick or wounded by sure and rite if you both get sick or hurt some body will rite for you we will send uncle vincent to you if he's here maby he will go to war. Your kind saveior can take better car of you all than we all can and he will if you will ask him as you aught to every think looks lonesom since you both left the _?rack?__ looks lonesom and every thing.
