He died yesterday evening poor fellow has paid the debt we all have to have to pay sooner or later. Rieves takes it verry hard. Parris Horton also died yesterday evening. Five of our company have died and sevearl others tolerable sick. Rice could not tell how David was but thought that he was beter. Rieves is well ecept a bad coald. He says you must bear it the best you can and not be trobled about him. He wanted to write to you about Edmondson's condition sooner than he did but he would not let him. I will write to George to designate the spot so that you can find him if you shoul desire to move him home. Myself Bolivar and James Gilmer are well at present. Morgan & Lafayett are well also.
Nearly half of my company are unfit for duty we have verry hard time ever since we left Laurel ther are a great many sick in our regiment.
It is now geting late so I must bring my leter to a close by subscribing myself your friend until death.
