Dear Sister
       I received your letters of September 29th & October the 11th both the same time I was truly glad to hear that you all was well and doing as well as you are but I am sorry that pa has to work I wish I was there to work in his place. When you write again tell me what has become of Lafayett. Martha I am well and have got shoes. tell thomas Wiliams folks that he is well ed Gray is also well I was glad to hear that uncle charles had got home tell him to write to me
Tell hayes & Cummings to write to me we have had some very cool weather here this fawl but not half as cold as we will have this winter Give pa ma and all the rest my best respects. I got a letter from cousin Nancy Jane Browning the other day they are all well. Give my respects to all enquireing friends. William R. Gilmer
