January 25, 1907
The one hundredth anniversary of the birth of General Robert E. Lee was fittingly observed in Lebanon Saturday under the auspices of the H. H. Dickenson Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy. After song by the choir and prayer by Rev. S. T. M. McPhearson, Rev. Hall delivered a fine address on the life and character of General Lee which was received with prolonged applause from the old soldiers present. At the conclusion of the address the crosses of honor were handed out to those who had made application for them. Last came the lunch which was enjoyed by the white haired old men who stepped to the tune of Dixie back in the sixties. may God bless each and every old soldier.
