A MONUMENT

At meeting of the McElhaney Camp of Confederate Veterans, held at the court house recently, a movement was started to erect a monument at Lebanon to the memory of the old confederate soldiers of Russell county, and the following committees were appointed to solicit funds for that purpose:
Lebanon - G. W. J. Gray, Misses Berta Dickenson and Dora Gilmer.
Moccasin -- J. B. Fuller, Misses Ethel McFarlane and Pearl Hanson.
Castlewood -- W. P. Cooper, Miss Lizzie Dickenson and Miss Grigsby.
Elk Garden -- C. W. Powers, Misses Osa Bradshaw and Ollie Powers.
New Garden -- A. L. Hurt, Misses Lizzie Howard and Maude Thompson.
Copper Creek -- Henry Steele, Mrs. E. M. Ireson and Miss Nannie Mason.
Cleveland -- N. B. Smith, Misses Mabel Purcell and Zelphia Barton.
Each one will deposit the money collected in the bank or banks at Lebanon. It is to be hoped, and we believe, every citizen of the county will take a pride in contributing to this laudable enterprise. V. Jessee, Chairman. J. W. Bausell, Sec'y.
