$10 For Monument.
Hon. Francis A. Stratton, a clever gentleman of Mt. Vernon, N. Y., but a native of this section, has just sent a $10 check to J. W. Bausell for the confederate monument fund.
It is hoped that this contribution will stimulate others to contribute to this fund.
The monument will be unveiled about the 20th of September and all who will are urged to contribute to the payment of same.
The absent sons and daughters of old Russell, who still love their back home county, will certainly want to aid in the erection of the monument that will stand for centuries as a tribute to the bravest men the world has ever known.
Who will be next to send check?
