Confederate Memorial Service

The Memorial service for the Confederate veterans of Russell county will be held in Lebanon at the Methodist church, August 18, at 11:00.

August being the month the Commander of the McElhaney Camp of Confederate Veterans, Colonel James Wesley Bausell, passed away, as a tribute paid to the memory of an unfailing worker, and one who was ever loyal to his comrades - those men who were yet living, and to the memory of those who have gone on. The suggestion was that the Memorial service be held annually, the third Sunday of the month met with general approval.

Will the families of veterans, wives and widows of veterans, who have passed away during the past year, please send their names, dates of death etc., to the Lebanon News not later than the 17th, also will the families or friends of the living veterans who are able to attend the service please notify the News office as early as possible in order that transportation, etc., can be arranged. Thank you.

M. L. D.,
Adjutant McElhaney Camp of Confederate Veterans.
