Memorial services for the departed Confederate soldiers were held at the Methodist church in Lebanon Sunday Rev. George A. Maiden, of Abingdon, doing the preaching. A good sprinkle of old soldiers and a large crowd was present. Forty-three years ago Rev. Maiden as pastor, preached his first sermon in Lebanon, and two people were in the congregation Sunday that heard him on that day in the long ago. They were Judge Burns and J. B. Seacatt.
