THE REUNION. Pursuant to a call by the chairman, J. W. Bausell, a meeting was held at St. Paul on Saturday, the 16th inst., to select a place and time for holding the Reunion of ex Confederate Veterans. The meeting was called to order at 1 o'clock p. m., by J. W. Bausell, chairman of the committee, and Mr. Allen, of Richlands, was made chairman of the meeting. J. W. Bausell, in a few brief remarks, set for the object of the meeting and gave some reasons why the reunion should not be held at Lebanon and also expressed it as his desire that it be held at Richlands. G. W. Kernahen and A. P. Pannell, of the Richlands delegation, made earnest appeals in favor of Richlands. Capt. C. R. Ruffin and 'Squire J. J. Dickenson spoke in behalf of Minneapolis. After which, on motion, A. L. Childs, J. J. Dickenson, Geo. Banner and John Steel were appointed as a committee to select the place, and after a brief consultation reported in favor of Richlands. The 10th and 11th of September was then selected as the time. On motion, J. J. Dickenson, J. L. Williams, J. H. Candler and A. L. Vicars were added to the committee on arrangements. On motion it was ordered that the proceedings of the the meeting to be published in the Lebanon News, Southwest Virginian and the papers of Southwest Virginia. On motion, Gen. T. L. Rosser, J. A. Buchanan and J. L. White were invited to speak at the reunion. It was also given as the sense of the meeting that no one attempt to make political capital from the reunion. after which the meeting adjourned sine die.
