Maithas Lee is Past Centary Mark and Can Read Without Glasses

Russell county, Va., boasts of the oldest Confederate veteran now living. He is Mathas Lee, of Honaker, fifty-seven miles down the Clinch Valley from this city. Mr. Lee is 102 years old, and is remarkably active. He enlisted in Captain Sim Hunt's company, Thirty-seventh Virginia Regiment, in 1861, and served through the war. He was a gallant soldier. Three years ago he attended the reunion at Louisville, Ky., and is making his calculations to attend next year. He can read without the aid of glasses.
