Was in Pickett's Division

A. F. Hurt, of Norton, Va., passed through the city yesterday for Washington, where he goes to attend the reunion of Confederate veterans. He was a non-commissioned officer of Pickett's division and a member of the twenty-ninth Virginia Infantry, and holds a cross of honor. He said he was captured three times but determined each time he would die before entering a federal prison, and always managed to escape. He was very enthusiastic over America's share in the present war and says we should whip Germany while we have the help of England and France, else those countries would be defeated and then drafted by Germany to wage war against this country.
